Your Facebook business page is essential for building connections for your business.  As of March 29, 2012 there are 845 million users on Facebook.  There are 2 billion posts daily with 500 million daily log ins.  The number of daily photo uploads is a staggering 250 million.  With numbers like these can you afford not to have your business on Facebook.

The Facebook Business page is mission control for your business.  The new timeline feature is like an empty canvas where you need to get creative and exemplify the essence of your brand.

Here are nine tips to creating a successful business page;

1.  Set your cover photo and profile photo- this will identify you and your brand.  Many large companies have done an excellent job with this such as Harley Davidson. Coca Cola, Redbox, etc.
2. Add milestones and key events – Coca Cola has put a copy of the original stock certificate and the date they were founded.
3. Pin important stories to the top of your page.
4. Post daily to your page- you should at a minimum post one or twice a week.
5. Manage your page through the admin panel – this is new feature to help create your own presence
6. Respond to personal messages – friends can message you, you should respond in a timely manner.
7. Rearrange views and apps – your photos, events and custom apps at the top of the page.
8. Highlight updates – star post  and you can go to full width of the page.
9. Claim your vanity URL – if you haven’t done so already, go to www.Facebook.com/username and claim your name.  Check out www.fb.com/TheSerios.
